Often those who have the disease since birth plan is not covered by insurance companies. But now, insurance companies also changed over time, various types of disease and the disease is no longer any reason to let those that are not covered. Even now, there is insurance that offers help to those who are blind.
Therefore AXA Affin General Insurance Bhd. has launched a personal accident insurance scheme for the blind, the first for Malaysia, which is named as SmartAid. The program was developed in collaboration with the Malaysian Association of the Blind (MAB). This scheme is offered at regular rates without any additional charge.
SmartAid can have the payments start with as low as RM 12.15 per year which covers death, permanent disablement, accidental medical expenses and funeral expenses. The launch of this program opens new avenues for the blind and those excluded from this at least get the attention and the future is more secure.
